A Place of Warmth and Welcome

Each winter, our church opens its doors through Room in the Inn, offering hospitality, dignity, and rest to neighbors who need a safe place to stay. In partnership with Roof Above, we welcome guests on Sunday and Wednesday evenings, providing a warm meal, conversation, and a comfortable bed during the coldest months of the year.

Room in the Inn is more than a place to sleep. It is a ministry of presence. Volunteers prepare meals, drive the van, stay overnight, share breakfast, and offer the simple but powerful gift of being known. Over and over, we hear gratitude from guests who are thankful not only for shelter, but for kindness. One guest shared, “Thank you for doing this. I am so grateful to stay with you in this safe place tonight.”

January’s winter storms remind us why this ministry matters. Out of an abundance of caution, we pivoted our hosting plans and partnered with Roof Above and other congregations to ensure every family and woman registered for Room in the Inn had safe shelter at local hotels during the storm. We also shared Wednesday Night Supper leftovers and donated food so that guests would have warm meals during uncertain weather. Even when plans change, the commitment remains the same: caring for our neighbors.

Your generosity makes this possible. The Mission & Outreach Fund has grown, increasing 28% in two years, from $570,000 to $740,000. This allows us continue to offer warmth, shelter, and hope when it is needed most, and strengthen partnerships that address food insecurity, housing, education, and equity in our community.
