Women in our church community are invited to connect and share in ministry together. Women’s Ministry at Myers Park UMC is ever-evolving and includes offerings such as our Annual Women’s Retreat, small groups, traditional United Methodist Women’s circles, and moms groups.

Women’s Events

United Women in Faith

United Methodist Women (UMW) is a worldwide community of women, whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

UMW Circles

Anna, 3rd Thursday, 7-8 p.m., room 217, Center of Hope: Professional women 40+. Each month is a single lesson; attend when you’re able—no long-term commitment required.  Resumes September 17!
Hannah, 2nd Tuesday, 3 p.m., room 106: A lighthearted group of women who meet for book study and cheerful fellowship.
Martha, 1st Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., room 108: A group of ladies, 60s and up, who care significantly about living generously, growing in fellowship, and deepening their faith. A presenter or guest teacher often leads their time together.
Mary, 2nd Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., room 110: A group of women who meet for fellowship, service, and book study related to spirituality and women’s issues.

Moms of Young Children

Tuesdays resuming September 8, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Higher Grounds café conference room

This small group for young moms is a welcoming space to build meaningful friendships and share life together in a season that can feel both beautiful and overwhelming. Through honest conversation, prayer, and mutual support, moms will encourage one another as they grow in faith and love for their families. Prayer Shawl Ministry

Tuesdays, 2 p.m., room 123

Connect with others as you knit gifts that wrap our receivers in loving prayers and comfort.

Yoga and Prayer

Gentle yoga and deep stretch sessions are offered weekly, as we join movement and faith. All ages and abilities are welcome. A $5 donation is suggested.

Young Professional Women’s Bible Study

Wednesdays, 7 p.m., room 103

All women in their 20s and 30s are invited to this group, which meets for weekly bible study and occasional social gatherings. This group is actively seeking new members! No worries if you can’t make it every week – we know life happens! Contact Hayley Curry to learn more or to be added to the email list.

Monday Women’s Bible Study

Mondays beginning September 28, 12 p.m., room 221. Center of Hope

This ongoing group’s participants choose the curriculum for study and discussion. The fall study will focus on Barbara Brown Taylor’s An Altar in the WorldContact Julie Williams for more information.

Wednesday’s Journey Women’s Bible Study

Wednesdays beginning September 30, 2 p.m., room 221, Center of Hope

This group is open to anyone and everyone who wants to join. This group meets in person but participants may also join via Zoom. The fall study will focus on Barbara Brown Taylor’s An Altar in the WorldContact Julie Williams for more information and the Zoom link if you want to join us online.
