Our ensembles for children, youth and adults are a loving community of God that passionately and creatively worships through music and shares our gifts with the whole church. People of all abilities and ages are welcome to join us, or support the Music Ministry behind the scenes.
MUSIC ENDOWMENT FUND
Established in memory of the first full-time music director at Myers Park United Methodist Church, the Walter Herbert Ball Endowment Fund for Music provides funding for music programs of the church for which he served so long and so faithfully. The Fund is used to underwrite concerts, including our Midday Music Series and the American Guild of Organists Summer Recital Series, which raises money for local organists’ scholarships. The fund provides educational workshops with international clinicians and artists for our choirs and community. It provides funding for the commission of new sacred music and subsidizes the Chancel Choir’s tours, including trips to England, Austria and the Czech Republic, and Scotland. In 2021 the fund helped to refurbish the choir room for better seating and a more efficient rehearsal space.
