The Bulb Collection

We collect plastic and reusable shopping bags for The Bulb, which provides local produce and health and wellness education to food insecure neighborhoods through weekly markets. Please drop off donations to the labeled bins in the Parish Life Building lobby,

Volunteer as a Math Tutor

Join Heart Math Tutoring to help elementary school students in CMS build foundational math skills and confidence. With the support of an on-site coordinator, volunteers work one hour a week with the same student(s) all year using an easy-to-follow, proven curriculum. Training provided.

For the Love of Literacy

This is a revamped program in partnership with Druid Hills Academy to provide literacy tutoring to kindergarteners and first graders. Email Amie Rucker at amierucker@gmail.com with any questions and to sign up to help.

Serve at the Men’s Shelter

Volunteer to serve meals at the Men’s Shelter on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Duties include food and table prep and an opportunity to serve a meal to the men staying at the shelter.

Trinity’s Table

In partnership with South Tryon Community UMC, our Equity and Empowerment team invites you to help greet and serve neighbors at Trinity’s Table, a feeding and fellowship ministry at South Tryon Community UMC at 2516 S. Tryon Street.

Blessings in a Backpack

One in five children relies on their school’s free and reduced-price meal program to provide the nourishment they need to learn and grow. But what happens when the students leave school on Friday? Join us in preventing weekend hunger by packing bags for Starmount Elementary. All supplies provided. Click here to sign up.

Nourish Up: Warehouse Volunteer

Join Myers Park UMC friends to pack meal kits filled with a week’s worth of food. You will work on an assembly line to pack food supply boxes or to inspect and sort food donations. You must register with Nourish Up in advance.

Sign Up for the Baking Team

Love to bake and looking for ways to give? We need desserts for events throughout the year – from South Tryon lunches to McCreesh Place birthday parties. We gladly take store-bought desserts as well!

Want to learn more about a specific Missions topic? Passionate about social justice but don’t know where to start? Check out our book recommendations to help you on your journey of learning and un-learning ways to be a good neighbor in your community and in the world.

Snack Bag Ministry

Join us in feeding the community by dropping off snack bags at Crisis Assistance Ministry. Purchase and prepare 100 pre-packaged individual bags of snacks and drop them off at their donation drop-off door. You don't even need to get out of your car! Sign up here.

Write Cards for Hospital Visits

Each week, our pastors travel to local hospitals, visiting with friends of our church. Handwritten cards and prayers can mean a lot to someone who needs a little boost of joy. We invite you and your family to make cards to brighten someone’s day and drop them off in the Missions office.

We express our sincerest gratitude to you for your giving hearts. However, at this time, we are not collecting food or clothing here at the church. Please check the Missions website before bringing donations of any kind to the Parish Life lobby or the Missions office.
