Health Ministries Team

Care Teams

New Parent Visitation

We offer support and encouragement to families as they experience an addition to their family.  Help make a caring connection, deliver a casserole, and encourage our families.  For more information about serving in this ministry, contact Liza Zopp at zoppnc@aol.com.

Health Room Outreach

Health Ministries Equipment Closet: Wheelchairs, walkers and other gently-used medical equipment items are available to loan to those experiencing a need for the equipment.  Contact Lauren Smith, Parish Nurse, at 704-295-4836 or LSmith@mpumc.org.

Bloodmobile

Blood drives, in partnership with the Red Cross, are held at MPUMC twice a year.  Consider donating blood – the Gift of Life.  Volunteers are needed to assist with blood drive sign-ups, donor engagement, and assistance on blood drive dates.  For questions or to assist, please contact Debbie White at dwhite1451@gmail.com.

Marie G. Davis School Health Room

Twice during the school year, we provide additional supplies to the school nurse at Marie G. Davis to care for the health needs of the children at the school.  If interested in assisting, contact Jean Cannon at jwcannon444@gmail.com or Barbara Crum at bcrumm@bellsouth.net.

Exercise Classes              

Functional Fitness Class for those over age 60:

Functional Fitness for Active Aging:  Enjoy a 60-minute workout tailored specifically to the needs of older adults! This group exercise class is designed and led by a licensed physical therapist, and will show you how to exercise safely and to gain maximum benefit. It is suited for everyone regardless of your current fitness level. Classes are held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Cost is $6 per class. Yoga and Prayer:

Yoga + Prayer:  Gentle Yoga and deep stretch sessions are offered weekly, as we join movement and faith.  All ages and abilities welcome.  A $5 donation is suggested.

Mondays – 12pm – Gentle Yoga

Thursdays – 9:30am – Gentle Yoga

Sundays – 6:30pm – Deep Stretch
