Faith Formation

The focus of Faith Formation events is Bible study, worship, reflection and prayer. We offer a variety of annual Faith Formation events, some of which are specific to the season (Kneeling at the Manger, Vacation Bible School and Blessing of the Backpacks); to f amilies (C amp Tekoa F amily Weekend); and to age/grade level (Third Grade Bible Sunday and Wonderfully Made for Fifth Graders).

Service

We are called to serve in this needy world.  These activities offer children opportunities to be in ministry to others.

Mission: Possible:  K-1 and 2-3 children meet every other month to be the hands and feet of God here and now. We typically do service projects at church and visit local agencies once or twice each year. Local ministry partners include Urban Ministries, Room in the Inn, Aldersgate Retirement Community, Charlotte Green, and many others.

Youth Servers:  Fifth graders may begin serving in worship as Bible Carrier during the Sanctuary Services. If you have questions about the Youth Server Ministry, contact amelia Miller at cmiller5@carolina.rr.com or Katharine Willis at katharinecwillis@gmail.com.

Seasonal Opportunities:  We offer additional opportunities to serve throughout the year.

Fellowship

Whenever we gather, we are a f amily. And we gather throughout the year at the Fall Block Party, F amily Advent Night, the Epiphany Party, F amily Movie Night, and Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, just to n ame a few.

Child Care

Our mission is to provide a safe and loving environment for your children while you get involved in our church. Our sitters are paid staff who have been background checked and have completed Safe Sanctuaries training. Child care is care that is provided any time other than during worship services. Although many of our church progr ams include child care for children through fifth grade, not all do. Please check when you register for a small group or Bible study to ensure child care is being offered. Child care is offered during peak activity times such as Sunday afternoons and evenings as well as Wednesday evenings. We require that there be at least four children in need of care during other times to offer child care to participants.
