Study with Rev. Nancy Watson

Two groups meeting mid-May throughout the summer and open to any who wish to join – each week offers a perfect study in itself and you need not attend every week! The author Amy-Jill Levine looks at scriptural passages that have caused people to scratch their heads in bewilderment, consternation or aggravation for centuries. Join as you are able, and be perplexed with us!

Buy your own copy of the book and come prepared to discuss the first chapter, Monday, May 16 or Thursday, May 19.

Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer

This group will resume in-person meetings on June 6.
Mondays, In-Person, 5:00- 6:00 p.m. in room 024

Centering Prayer is a method of prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of God’s presence, traditionally called contemplative prayer.  Centering Prayer facilitates the movement from more active prayer – verbal, mental, or affective prayer – into a receptive prayer of resting in God. Join ongoing sessions of Centering Prayer where you can learn the practice and experience it in a lay-led small group setting. Contact leader, Linda Myers at lindadon56@yahoo.com.

Book of the Month

Book of the Month

2022 Pastor’s Book of the Month Club: Each month, Dr. Howell is hosting an informal chance for us to read a book together, listen to a conversation with the author, and then talk with one another about what we think.

In March, we are looking at The Whole Language: The Power of Extravagant Tenderness by Father Gregory Boyle. Start reading, talk with others, and watch for how to connect with a larger group. Rev. Nathan Arledge will lead the discussion.
