SANCTUARY ORGAN
WALTER BALL MEMORIAL ORGAN
Honoring our beloved former choirmaster and organist, The Walter Ball Memorial Organ was originally built by the Holtkamp Organ Company in 2014 for a private owner. The organ has been rebuilt to blend into our existing chapel. The chapel has been modified to accommodate the organ and to serve as a recital space as well as continue to serve as a location for worship, weddings, and funerals.
HANDBELLS
The Myers Park UMC Handbell Ministry has grown to encompass six handbell choirs with nearly 100 ringers, ranging in age from kindergarteners to senior adults. These ringers rehearse under the direction of Brian Childers, Director of Handbells and Children’s and Youth Music, growing their skills and providing music for worship, concerts, and special events throughout the community. Our musicians ring on two five-octave sets of Malmark Handbells, several large aluminum handbells, two sets of Malmark handchimes, two octaves of Silver Melody Bells, and two sets of Schulmerich and Petit Fritzen Bells on loan from Handbell Musicians of America. Myers Park UMC groups use more than 300 bells in worship and concerts.
