News On Possible Building Expansion

In late February, our church filed a rezoning petition with the City of Charlotte in connection with possible building expansion. View the application: Rezoning Application-MPUMC & amp; RezoningPlan_022618.

What have we asked for?

1. An increase of approximately 100,000 square feet of building area on the c ampus between Queens and Providence roads. We have not asked for any change on our parking lot.
2. A change in zoning from a conditional zoning to a multi-use type zoning, which provides more flexibility.
3. An increase in building height for the portion of our c ampus where the Youth Building currently sits.

The zoning process will take into July under the city’s timetable. While we have already met with local Homeowners’ Associations, City Council representatives and Myers Park Presbyterian Church, we will host a community meeting in May for all to learn more about this project, and to ask questions.
