Labyrinth Coming to Francis Chapel

You Can Support The Project!

With the installation of a permanent labyrinth in the floor of newly restored Francis Chapel, we join in a rich tradition of churches and cathedrals providing this tool for prayer and meditation. Our Francis Chapel labyrinth will be the only indoor labyrinth in the area. Francis Chapel is set to reopen soon, with a new, gently used pipe organ sounding forth.

The labyrinth consists of a single pathway with a large center space. There are many ways to walk the labyrinth, but there is no one right way. Using guided devotions, scripture, stations of the cross and other resources may be helpful. Or a basic walk in and back out may be all you need to clear your mind and connect with God.

There will be times of facilitated walks and times of open walks, where information will be provided. Look for more information in the Cornerstone and at www.myersparkumc.org/contemplative. Does your group want to learn more, or schedule a group walk? Reach Kathy Mansfield at 704-231-7417.

An opportunity to support the Francis Chapel labyrinth: Donate $150 for a tile for the labyrinth. All donors’ n ames will be recognized on a plaque in Francis Chapel. Brochure/order forms are on a display table outside Francis Chapel in the Parish Life lobby. Complete the form and return it with your check to Myers Park United Methodist (attention Saribeth Dozier) at 1501 Queens Road, Charlotte NC 28207. Checks should be made out to the church with Labyrinth in the memo line.
